We offer a comprehensive pre-sale or pre-purchase home & building inspection service. While most property inspection companies are focussed on surface faults and maintenance issues, they very rarely gain an accurate assessment of what is behind the walls without exposing the framework. At leak detective we not only offer reporting on the properties structural integrity and general maintenance issues, we also use infrared technology and other Non Destructive Equipment in most cases we can detect what is really going on inside the property, without causing damage to it. As moisture in the framing can often be masked by the external and internal finishes of the property and can go undetected.
On the flipside of moisture issues, the bones/framing of the property may be perfectly fine but the problem could be that the property has little to no heat retention ability which is best described as heat leaking from your property in most cases due to lack of or poor insulation. These moisture and heat loss issues can lead to health concerns such as asthma, headaches or anxiety, while the overall heat loss present can cost you thousands of dollars over time.
Non-invasive/invasive moisture and heat loss testing
We use a combination of visual and infrared technology. Thermal imaging is used to assess the different temperatures of the area being tested. Once these areas are pinpointed, further NDT (Non-destructive Testing) equipment can be utilised to detect the approximate level of moisture content on and around the area of concern.
